Chimneys
They are heating system elements that enable the combustion products and harmful waste gases resulting from the burning of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels to be released into the atmosphere.
Important Criteria for a Safe and Regular Chimney
- The chimney must be of sufficient height.
- The flue gas temperature must be high enough.
- The outside temperature should be low.
- The atmospheric pressure must be high.
- The chimney insulation must be sufficient.
- The inner surface of the chimney must be smooth and even.
- The heat generator must not be operated under excessive load.
- The combustion air must be sufficient, but not excessive.
- No external air should enter the chimney; it must be airtight.
- The flue channel must not be long; it should be kept as short as possible.
- The operating characteristic of the system must be stable.
Double-Walled Chimney
It is generally preferred for chimneys located outside the shaft. The insulation and outer wall material used minimizes heat exchange with the outside environment, preventing condensation and increasing efficiency.
Cascade Chimney Systems
The system formed by connecting more than one device horizontally is called a cascade system.
Single Walled Chimney
It is used in shaft applications.
